HP Autowerks tunning plans for BMW 1M

Post by bimmermania »

Santa Barbara tuning shop, HP Autowerks, takes deliver of the new 2011 BMW 1 Series M Coupe. But this is just the beginning for the beautiful 1M Alpine White. The company plans to take the “baby-M” to the next level by turning it into a true racing car.

For starters, a new Borla exhaust system will be fitted to the car. The engine performance will be improved with the GIAC Performance Engine Software, but it’s unclear at the moment how many horsepower over the standard 340 the car will have. Other upgrades include a AST 4200’s w/custom SWIFT spring rates and camber plates. Even though the factory brakes are one of the best in any BMW on the market, HP Autowerks plans to upgrade them with the Stoptech Trophy Sport Big Brake System Front and Rear.

Inside, the beautiful BMW seats will be replaced by a set of Recaro Leather/Suede Centered Pole Positions seats with matching stitching, turning the cockpit into a real racing car.

ImageAs more and more customers are taking delivery of their 1Ms, we expect to see an abundance of modified units on the road. We also anticipate that major tuning companies like Dinan will have their own 1M chip available on the market.

For those of you that would like to find out how the 1M handles on track, feel free to read our BMWBLOG 1M Test Drive.
