Video: BMW Roadster History

Post by bimmermania »

From BMW Roadster 3/15 (15 hp) to E89 Z4 (300 hp), BMW takes us back into the history of BMW roadsters. The roadsters have been around since the beginning of last century and since then, little has changed in the description of a roadster: a two-seat car, without a fixed roof and with emphasis on sporty handling. While roadsters usually have soft-tops, retractable hard-tops are becoming more common these days.

In 1930, the 3/15 DA-3 Wartburg was the first sports roadster version of the original 3/15, and was consequently BMW’s first sports car.

Since then, BMW introduced several roadsters to the market, including James Bond’s Z8, the classic Z1 and the game changer Z3.

Two years ago, BMW introduced their latest and revised E89 Z4, the first BMW vehicle designed entirely by a team of female designers, Juliane Blasi (Exterior), Nadia Arnaoud (Interior) and Hilke Schaer (Color and Surface Design).

Let’s have a look at the video, but feel free to read our previous roadster coverage:
