As we mentioned yesterday, the facelifted versions of the BMW 3 Series Coupe and Convertible are not far away from the official unveiling. With a launch date set for Geneva Motor Show, the press release and official photos are just around the corner. Prior to that, new information have just emerged and they seem to be confirming what we have heard before.
First, most of the changes are taking place at the front-end with a new bumper and new white LED Angel Eyes. The rear-end will go through minor changes, more noticeable will be the LED taillights. Interior will get some small upgrades as well, including updated trim and a new center armrest.
Second, a new set of options are being added to the high-end model, 335i, which will have the usual M Sport and Sport packages available as an upgrade, but this time, with 19″ wheels. Vermillion Red paint is one of the colors added to the 3 Series line-up. For enthusiasts, the automatic transmission comes optionally with the previous generation shift paddles (pull left paddle to downshift, pull right paddle to upshift).

Third, the cat is out of the bag and this was an information we’ve been sitting on ever since the launch of the new 2011 BMW Z4 sDrive35is. The 2011 BMW 335 Coupe and Convertible will be offered in the “is” version as well, an upgraded model featuring the same power as seen in the refreshed Z4: 335 horsepower (340hp in Europe) at 5,900 rpm and 332 lb-ft in “regular mode”; an electronically-controlled overboost function can briefly increase torque under full load by another 37 lb-ft bringing the torque peak to 369 lb-ft.
The BMW 335is will also have the option of a DCT transmission.
It uses the same upgraded N54 six-cylinder turbocharged engine. The sportier 335is includes two transmission choices: DCT or Sport Automatic. All the other M-like elements are available as well.
Unfortunately, we’re a bit reluctant in confirming the highly rumored N55 twin-scroll engine, but we’re working on gathering more information.
