BMW warehouse workers in Ontario, CA protest against company

Post by bimmermania »

Autoblog reports on a series of protests from BMW’s parts distribution warehouse workers in Ontario, California.

Teamsters Local 495 have information about BMW’s plans to lay off approximately 100 employees in the next month, as a way to cut costs. The teamsters, out of which many have more than 10 years of experience with BMW, would be then replaced by outsourced workers. As a way to fight against decision that would leave them with no jobs and salaries, they have launched a press release and also set-up a website, BMWUltimateMisery.com, where they publish press articles and news that refer to their situation.

The union workers are sending out their message and requests through a video campaign on Vimeo, and they are also threatening to picket BMW dealerships.
