Spy Photo: 2011 Rolls-Royce Ghost Extended Wheelbase

Post by bimmermania »

Worldcarfans‘ spy photographers spied for the first time the 2011 Rolls-Royce Ghost Extended Wheelbase (EWB). The additional variant of the high-seller Ghost has been rumored for a while and the Oxford-based company is building on its success by adding another model to the line-up.

With dimensions fitting between the Bentley Mulsane and Rolls Royce Phantom, the Ghost Extended Wheelbase features modified B-pillars and longer rear-doors. Official information are yet to be released, but we expect the car to be around 10 inches longer than the regular Ghost.

The Ghost EWB will be a slightly shorter than the standard Phantom which measures 5840mm (229.9″) long and rides on a 3570mm (140.6″) wheelbase.

ImagePower is expected to come from the same BMW V12 6.6 liter turbocharged engine that produces 563 horsepower and 780 Nm (575 lb-ft) of torque. The engine in current configuration is matted to an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission, the same option most likely being used in the extended wheelbase configuration as well.

Judging by the spy photos, the testing seems to be focusing solely on the drivetrain and driving experience, so we expect no exterior changes, aside from the increased size.Image
