BMWBLOG had the rare privilege of driving two of the world’s finest automobiles: the Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe and the recently released Rolls-Royce Ghost.
Briskly leaving the down town parking lot from my Hotel, the Phantom gathered momentum and took charge – cars and pedestrians looking on. The Phantom exerts a presence like few of its peers, always gracing neighborhoods as though a rolling art gallery – to be looked at and enjoyed.
The harsh and noisy environment of downtown Philladelphia made for a perfect laboratory to test the sound deadening and isolation of both Rolls-Royce cabins. As would be expected of ‘best in class’ vehicles, both Rolls-Royce displayed exemplary handling and comfort while caudeling you in the most extravegant luxury.
After several trips around the downtown core one conclusion became very clear: the driving experience in a Rolls-Royce is nothing short of sublime. It is the stuff child hood dreams are made of – the iconic name plate extends beyond image and bathes you in a pool of contentment.
