Under the hood reign a choice of high-torque TwinPower Turbo engines. The 550i’s 400-hp V-8 rockets the Sedan from 0-60 in 5.0 seconds.1 The 300-hp 535i with Valvetronic technology generates 300 lb-ft of torque from 1200-5000 rpm. Thanks to BMW EfficientDynamics technology, these engines are as efficient as they are powerful. New Brake Energy Regeneration technology helps decrease consumption and emissions, as does a no-cost optional 8-speed automatic transmission.
