A new design project initiated by BMW Group Romania plans to stimulate the creativity of several artists in creating 2D/3D designs that revolve around the Joy marketing campaign. The Joy campaign started years ago when BMW unveiled their 1 Series Hatchback model and it has been heavily advertised ever since the new Z4 Roadster.
This past summer, the Joy campaign revolved around BMW’s newest Sports Activity Vehicle, X1, a model that appeals to a younger demographic.
As any other marketing campaign, Joy has stirred up some controversy among BMW fans, and not only. While in Europe that word “Joy” has always been part of BMW’s slogan, in the U.S. and U.K., “Ultimate Driving Machine” or “Sheer Driving Pleasure” were the slogans used to describe the brand.
Putting the debate aside, we’re glad to see the work performed by the community, for the Joy campaign. We’ve seen recently the “Joy Dictionary” and “He drives a BMW” sketches, but today, we have more artwork to share with you. Overall, the VisualArt Design project was successful since it involved the BMW community and not only, and at the end of the project, there were over 90 submissions.
We’ll show you a few of them that we liked, but you can see the rest here: VisualArt “Joy is BMW”
