The 1 Series Coupe (E82) and Convertible (E88) went on sale in the United States in model year 2007 as the 128i and the 135i. Half way through their lifecycle, the two vehicles are due for the usual BMW facelift, or life cycle impulse as the company likes to call it.

According to the same resourceful Scott27, the 1 Series Coupe and Convertible will be unveiled in December of this year, followed by a world debut, along with the 1 Series M Coupe, at the Detroit Motor Show in January 2011.

Changes to the Coupe and Convertible revolve around the headlights which get the LED technology treatment, but also the taillights featured the now usual LEDs.

Technology plays an important role in the life of future BMW vehicles, and 1 Series makes no exception. The car will feature the latest innovations of the ConnectedDrive system.

The visual changes will bring the 1er Coupe and Convertible inline with the forthcoming F20 1 Series Sporthatch by re-profiling the semi-circles that dip under the grille. The E82 and E88 models will be replaced in 2012, respectively 2013.Image
