2011 BMW 5 Series – Video review and some drifting

Autoblog.nl publishes one of their usual video reviews and this time, it is BMW 5 Series’ time to go through the test drills. In contrast with some of the recent reviews, the Dutch fellows at Autoblog are quite enjoying the new 5er and the short drifting moment at the end of the video comes to confirm that.

The model tested is the entry-level unit into the U.S. market, the 535i that comes with the new turbocharged 3.0-liter N55 inline-6 with its single twin-scroll turbo. The car also weighs, with the new eight-speed automatic, around 3,880 pounds. This is some 177 pounds more than the outgoing car , but that’s the price you pay for a larger package and a 55 percent increase in structural rigidity.

The 2011 BMW 535i produces 302 horsepower at 5,800-6,400 rpm and 295 pound-feet of torque from 1,200-5,000 rpm. Straigthline speed? 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 5.9 seconds.

So, let’s have a look and for those of us that skipped Dutch in school, the English subtitles will come in handy.
