Are the rotors on this car disposable only?

Post by 2000_328i »

My rotors need turned but I seen one site say that because they are made thinner that they must be replaced. Anyone have any input on this?
I have a 328i sedan with vented front and non-vented rear.
The rotors are pretty smooth but do have a big wear lip on th outer edge.
Also, I called the auto parts store and they did not have any specs to turn these rotors, so they can't check em'.
thanks!

I'm not sure if they are actually made thinner, but I've always had to replace mine after they begin to wear pretty bad. I think your best bet would be to just have them replaced. Which auto parts store are you checking with?

There are several stores listed here (bottom left) that you can use to find the best price for your budget.

I usually have my rotors (other vehicles) turned at Oreilly Auto Parts.
I read that these cars come with the cross drilled fronts, but damn, those are expensive to replace. It is not like it is an M3 or something. I want cheap, as I probaly won't keep the car too long.
