It sounds like your keyless entry remote might have a short somewhere under the button, making contact at all times. in my opinion they are all good cars on fuel. the best on fuel would of course be the 316 or 318. in the usa i've not seen the e30 316, we may just have the 318. the e30 325's are actually pretty powerful. i used to drive a 1986 e30 325e. one of the first bmw's to have OBC.
